You don't need a roof to choose clean energy.
How It Works
You co-fund clean energy projects
Your membership catalyzes American solar, wind, or hydroelectric projects. It takes less than 90 seconds to get started. No installations, no utility switch, no contracts.
The projects you back add clean electricity to the grid
Your membership drives the production of zero-emissions power onto the electric grid in the amount you specify.
Clean energy keeps climate pollution out of the atmosphere
The renewable energy added to the grid reduces the need for the same amount of fossil fuel electricity. You own the environmental benefit of preventing those greenhouse gases and other pollutants from being released.
Your climate action is tracked, certified, and registered
Your climate action is documented in regional renewable energy registries. These registries issue instruments called Renewable Energy Certificates (RECs) to track clean energy deliveries across the grid. Each certificate is a unique, numbered record capturing the project name, type, location, date, and amount of clean energy produced.
You go from bystander to influencing what gets made with proof
Your personalized Clean Energy Dashboard updates every month with the real numbers: kilowatt-hours delivered and pounds of CO₂ prevented at the source when the clean energy you fund displaces fossil fuels.
Clean energy wins. Fossil fuels lose out
Your individual action, combined with others, becomes a market force that gives clean energy an economic advantage over dirty energy. Better economics means more clean energy. More clean energy means less dirty energy and lower emissions.
What sets us apart?
Here's just a few reasons why Sustainable Choice stands out from "green energy" providers.
Always Zero-Emissions
Sustainable Choice benefits solar, wind, and hydroelectric projects only. Many competitors hide or downplay procurement from “green” sources that burn trash, wood, landfill gas, or animal waste.
No Conflicts of Interest
Sustainable Choice does not support, directly or indirectly, the production of electricity by fossil fuels. Some competitors own, operate, or invest in fossil fuel facilities while offering clean energy services.
Giving Back to the Planet
Sustainable Choice is the only clean energy membership that includes an investment in impacts beyond the grid. We donate 1% of all sales to organizations vetted by 1% for the Planet.
