How much clean energy should I support?
Once you select an energy mix, you will need to choose how much renewable energy to support every month. We recommend matching your average monthly electricity usage with Sustainable Choice RECs. Of course, you may opt to support more or less than your monthly average. It's up to you and what you feel aligns best with your goals and budget. Below we present two easy ways to determine how to select the recommended amount.
Utility Bills
Use your monthly electric bills to determine how much renewable energy you'd like to support. For accurate estimates, average your usage over 12 months. If only one bill is available, select a month that best represents your typical consumption.
Estimation Tool
Use the estimation tool provided at the bottom of the Home and Pro plan pages to quickly determine your monthly average electric usage by answering a few short questions about your living space and energy uses. The tool estimates how much of your current usage comes from renewables vs. non-renewables.
